Pers. سوزمانی  Sūzmānī. Der Ursprung des Namens sūzmānī ist nicht bekannt, ebenso wenig ist seine Verwendung definiert. Er bezeichnet überwiegend Tanzmädchen, die sich darüber hinaus prostituierten, in Kirmānšāh scheint er eine lokale Bezeichnung für „Zigeuner“ gewesen zu sein. Floor rekonstruiert zwei Gruppen von sūzmānī, eine Gruppe von Nomaden, die andere war ein kurdischer Stamm. Beiden Gruppen war ein nomadischer Lebensstil gemein, sowohl Männer als auch Frauen verdienten ihren Unterhalt zumeist als Musiker und Tänzer.
